MYBA Metrowest Travel Basketball Program

The MYBA's travel basketball program participates in the Metrowest basketball league. Metrowest is one of the largest travel basketball organizations in Massachusetts. This program competes at a higher level of competition than our recreational "in town" program and is intended for more experienced players.

Metrowest is offered to players entering or currently in grades 4 through 8. Two, 90-minute tryouts will be held in September for each gender and age group. If your child does not make a team, he/she is automatically placed into our in town, Mansfield-only basketball program, which begins in December. Players who do make a Metrowest travel team will practice up to two times per week (chosen by the assigned coach) and have one game per weekend (usually on Sundays). Some games will be scheduled as "home" games at Mass Premier Courts and some will be scheduled as "away" games and hosted by opposing teams.

IMPORTANT FEE NOTE: There are two fees for the Metrowest travel program - an initial registration fee of $150 and a subsequent team fee, if your child is placed on a team, of $150 (TOTAL: $300). The $150 registration fee is automatically transferred to the in town program should your child not make a travel team. There are additional fees for uniforms if a player requires a new or replacement uniform. Further, if teams decide to participate in any pre-season tournaments, there will also be additional entry fees.

4th Grade: Tuesday, September 12
